Moab was pregnant when I first passed through 45 years ago. I little thought it was on the verge of giving birth to adventure companies baby sitting the uninitiated enthusiast.
Today thousands visit the once sleepy town that was home to a large uranium mining venture. They can little imagine what was there previously. Most know Moab from John Wayne movies or the more recent Thelma and Louise.
It is impossible to be alone in Moab unless you are suspended from the many vertical cliffs that surround the town. Tomorrow I shall endeavor to ride my bike without colluding with my many compatriots.
If I was an artist I should try to capture this most wondrous area. I have talked myself out of that rash decision so far. We'll see what trials tomorrow brings.
